Getting chilli

It was time to cut off the last of the chillis today.  These are a variety of Rocoto chilli called ‘Alberto’s Locoto’ from the Real Seed Company.

They do ripen to red eventually but that won’t be possible this year as the cold really has started to grip now and the plants were suffering.

So with twenty-two harvested I’ll put most of them in a bag in the freezer.  When thawed they lose their crispness but still have all their flavour and that’s good enough for me.
