
A trip to the shops today was a good opportunity to stock up on onion, shallot and garlic sets. Each of the above is an overwintering variety, so I’ll plant them in the next few weeks.
They’ll go in the space currently occupied by three huge courgette plants, none of which is showing any sign of fading yet. All being well, the sets will get establish good strong roots before winter starts. Come the spring they’ll race ahead and give a nice early crop.
