My seed potatoes arrived today and they’re already sitting in egg boxes in a cool room, hopefully throwing out plenty of sprouts in the next week or two. At that point I’ll put them in the raised beds and look forward to a good harvest in a few months.
There are two varieties: Charlotte, a delicious second early variety which we’ve grown successfully the last two years, and King Edward, a traditional maincrop variety which is a first time grow for me.
In the background above are some shallot and onion sets which arrived in the same delivery. I’ll be planting those out this week if the weather’s OK; it’s been cold and foggy round here the last few days.
